I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS

2012

Almost every song has pondered the age-old paradigm; I Want to Know What Love Is? At the heart of my artistic practice, over a six-month period I undertook a community engagement process working with South-West Sydney communities and found a community united by song.
It quickly became clear that that every person has a secret world of vulnerability, but paradoxically they have a complex brilliance in their love of singing and their reverence for the Song.
Like many of the tunes that flood our lives, I Want To Know What Love Is? is a multi-layered exhibition that is activated by stored memories, of our own personal songs that trigger different possible answers.
